Here's the two extremes on the spectrum. Clearly, Whitt wont be happy today, and will make some changes. But will he lean a little more toward (1) or (2):


1. Steady as it goes. Dont panic, no fundamental changes ("I've been doing this a long time, we trust the system..."), probably just a few cosmetic modifications and reaming players who draw penalties.

2. "Fuck this, if we lose, we'll go down Tommy Hearns-swinging from the opening bell." Bryce, JJ and Marsh are obviously the best players (especially since Marshall is either hurt or otherwise lost speed and agility), so let them fly. Expect closer to 58/42% passing than the other way around like yesterday.

Whitt looks like a guy who would be closer to the 1st, a dinosaur who trusts the last millions of years of success rather than be alarmed by a meteor, however huge, crashing yesterday. On the other hand, he might fully appreciate how close he is to losing his long and favorable reputation with this suddenly unexpected but potentially ignominious coaching extinction year.
