Of course, I wasn't as optimistic as most in relation to this season.
We are looking at a team that has more change/big story lines in this single season than most experience. So it shouldn't be surprising that so much is tumultous.

Thus, despite the veteran head coach and a mostly veteran staff, I allow that there is significant room for growth.

I do think they are, as a team, now at a crossroads. Does the stupid shit start to get taken care of? In particular:

Whatever the fuck the moron culture of the DB room is must be fixed or there should be a coaching change in the off season.

The not taking care of the details on special teams has to be fixed or there should be a coaching change in the off season.

The formation slop and approach to short yardage red zone has to be fixed as well, but I'm higher on Beck than most and I think it will get fixed. Young quarterbacks and new offenses seldom equal great red zone efficiency.

I think this staff can fix that stuff. And if the team progresses then things could trend up in subsequent years. Unfortunately, the schedule is such, that I think the sloppy play (and some unreal bad bounces) of yesterday has costs them any chance at making a playoff run this season.
