Replay officials can review a ball carrier's forward progress or the spot of a fumble/down only if it directly relates to a first down (the line to gain) or a scoring play (the goal line)

I had to look this up because I think this rule has changed over the years.
Pretty sure in the past you could challenge spots anywhere on the field as long as you had a timeout to take away if you were unsuccessful.
There was a play where Bryce ran out at Iowa's 23 or 24 but they spotted it back at the 26
Unlike this similar play below it wasn't for the line to gain so they can't review it..
It's sort of like the ABS system in the MLB once you use up your challenges you're at the mercy of the umps or officials.
That said credit Iowa for taking advantage of enough of those things to earn the win.
