Butterflies recently were crazy abundant in my burb

in Chi. My wife created a natural / native prairie garden in the back. Not infrequent to see a dozen butterflies flapping around on a warm, summer day. I loved it. We had a raised deck and could look down, watch them fly in, land on flowers, frolic. Tons of lightning bugs. Less so on grasshoppers.

Not nearly as many of any insect here.
