The Victors

When I was in high school and college there were two. You were either a Jade East guy or English Leather or both. I was both, alternately. During the first semester of my freshman year in East Quad, one of the common uses of these concoctions was to pour some on the floor under the RA's door (linoleum floors, so it would flow into his room) and light it on fire. We drove him away in one semester. He was replaced by graduate student Mel Anthony who had scored four TDs in the 1965 Rose Bowl. His first week, about nine of us tried to take him down to the shower room for a swirly. This was foolish, considering that eleven Beavers couldn't tackle him. I mean Oregon State ones. After that things were quiet and orderly on our floor. He was a very nice guy, though.
