I really doubt he comes up before next season, but maybe they throw him a few appearances as a September callup. But the kid can hit. He missed significant time this year coming off a wrist injury, but has hit .297/.382/.672 in 17 games for Erie this season including 8 HRs. Last season he killed it at West michigan in A ball with a .296/.422/.602 batting line over 55 games with 15 HRs.
It has taken him a little bit of getting used to each level as he moves up, but once he figures it out he has been dynamite. Then last season he won the Triple Crown in the Arizona Fall League. I'm thinking he is going to be their main option at 1st base/DH as early as next season in Detroit (whenever a lockout may end). Maybe not straight out of spring training, but by midseason.
