Assuming it’s true, my question is “why”? Although idiotic, it isn’t THAT big of a conflict relative to others.(m)

Maybe there’s another reason, but it seems likely one of these two:

1) Hegseth & Co are stupidly burning through our most expensive/limited class of weapons even though far cheaper/plentiful yet nearly equally capable platforms could do the job—contrary to established US military doctrine. (Presumably because they don’t want to risk bad PR of higher casualties.)

2) The entire US military establishment has been WAY off by an order of magnitude (if not more) RE how many of these things the US needs to prosecute a modern military campaign the way they’d like to do it.

Any other likely explanations?
