That election was for his 3rd term, and Barnes was so inept at making simple arguments that he fumbled at the debate when he tried to make a point about that.

Lakshya Jain said this a long time ago but it resonates with me; who is Barnes’ constituency? The far left don’t rally around him, he’s not popular with normies or “non-political” people, and insiders are tepid about him. Wisconsin Dems needed a Josh Shapiro, but Barnes is much more like a Martha Coakley than a Josh Shapiro.
