He has the respect and admiration of both sides it appears. Time will tell if that will lead him to play a larger role going forward. But in this time wild accusations, pronouncements of doom, etc by all involved, his ability to speak to the people about difficult issues in a reasoned and calm voice is refreshing and stands out.
