Is usually something like…

1. Seed teams into tiers/pods

2. Create groups with one team from tier 1, one from tier 2, one from tier 3…

I know that equitable scheduling in an 18-team conference is a pipe dream, but surely the B10 could do a lot better with a model something like that. Make sure each team plays at least 1 top tier opponent, at least one 2nd tier team, etc. It means schedules would have to be determined later, after the previous season ends. But would that be so terrible?
