I think most voters don’t necessarily think that way.

Yes, a certain percentage of voters are highly invested in one of these camps. (And this type of voter is probably over-represented in primaries vs general elections.)

But I think most voters vote on other things in addition to policy dossiers. Who connects with them, who seems more equipped to do the job, who seems more like a decent person, whose ads were less offputting to them, whose experience impresses them more, and so on.

So is it confusing that the more “progressive” candidate won in the Mi Senate race, but not in the Wisconsin Gov. race? No…because they’re two different races with two different sets of candidates.
