The market for sports talk, analysis, discussion was way, way underserved back in the day (30-35 years ago).

Think of all the message boards, blogs, podcasts, Youtube channels, twitter accounts that exist just for college football, or even for a single program. None of that existed back then. The preview mags, fanzines like The Wolverine, newspapers, local TV highlights, Michigan Replay. That was about it. Almost none of it interactive or offering any sort of discussion. It is staggering how much sports media has grown since the early 90s.
