I'll defend paying younger Trae when he was an elite offensive player (there are still fewer players who have his passing ability) even though he was a poor defender but giving him all that money now when he has lost and step and is clearly in decline seems crazy.

Also, the East is going to be HELL next year. The Knicks are the reigning champs, the Cavs, Pistons, and Raptors aren't going anywhere, the Hawks and Magic are both young teams that should get better (Lu Dort is a big upgrade for the Hawks), the Celtics aren't going anywhere, and the Bucks and Sixers have both gotten better. Someone in that group is missing the playoffs.
