The Victors

I'll start by saying that the 2 yr anniversary of my wife's passing hit me out of nowhere. I've been a bit of a hermit at my campsite (very out of character for me), and depression has risen its ugly head. It's OK, I just have to go through it - the only way out...is through. Thank god, the Tigers are winning haha. That said, I've enjoyed my quiet. I've dug kind of deep into Buddhist/Zen wisdom and gotta say...Buddha was a really smart guy - way ahead of his time. FYI...Buddhism is NOT a religion, there is no deity. Probably comes closer to Jungian psychology than it does to religion.

Aside from my arrival disaster, things have been very peaceful for my 15th trip since last Sept.. As is always hoped, a lot of firsts - first time calling an RV mobile tech, first time at a private campground, and - as of yesterday, my first time using the on site 'honey wagon'. I was kind of stressed about emptying my black tank mid reservation (2wks usage) as that means you have to completely batten down the inside, disconnect water and electric, lift all of the stabilizers, hook up to truck and tow it to the dump station, then do the dirty deed. Then clean up and do everything in reverse when done, navigating/backing up through all of the RV's that have shown up for the the 'blissing of the bikes?' festival. Realizing how hard it was going to be to back through everyone, the owner felt sorry for me and offered having the honey wagon suck it all out where it is parked (he had refused my neighboring rv's). Hell yes! The weight of the world came off of my shoulders - I gave him $50! Strongly considering a portable black tank to empty into and then dump at the station - equally nasty but don't have to disconnect from everything.

I've become very comfortable living out of the RV. The AC does a perfect job and Starlink is just like being at home wrt online living. I have a reverse osmosis filter system so my water is crystal clear/safe. I shower in the public shower to save grey tank space and use their coin op washer dryer regularly. Just living like normal but with a different back yard. This whole thing has really opened my eyes to full time living on the road. I think I can do it!
