I walked about 30 miles over the 3 days there exploring the city. Was very impressed with the public indoor spaces, its like a whole extra city underground with sprawling malls, food courts, and lounge areas that are all super clean and safe feeling.
We went to edwards gardens and walked the paths, climbed up a big nature path, and walked along the stream.
Downtown walked all the major landmark sites, walked the riverfront, water taxi to the island and accidentally briefly ended up on a clothing optional beach that we wished was clothing mandatory. University campus was beautiful, graffiti alley was very cool to walk through.
Hockey hall of fame was a great time, enjoyed seeing all the trophies and finding my once upon a time great red wings names on them.
Ate meals at WVRST, Noodle Heaven, Cest What, Goodman Pub, and a Beaver Tail
Now, most importantly, Rush.... they were excellent. First time seeing them in 15 years as I missed the R40 tour, and I can say for sure they sounded better now than they did then. Geddy's voice was much better, and they were having so much fun it was clear how much they have missed playing live and are taking nothing for granted. Obviously Anika has impossibly large shoes to fill on drums, but she brought her own charm to it and gave a high energy performance. We saw shows 2 and 3 of the 4 night stand in Toronto, night 2 had the best setlist and was only the 78th time ever that 2112 was played live in its entirety.
Overall trip score: 4.5 Stars The only real downside was the cheap hotels we stayed in caused me to spend more time commuting and less time exploring, and an awfully high dew point that made said exploring a bit sweaty.
