What an inspired choice.

The University of Michigan Board of Regents has named C. Cybele Raver, provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at Vanderbilt University, as the University of Michigan’s next president.

I’ve followed her career at Vanderbilt with real admiration and respect. She is a first rate scholar, a thoughtful leader, and someone who has consistently put academic excellence and the people who make it possible at the center of the work.

I am so happy for the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Michigan, and for the entire U-M family, that the Regents have chosen such a wonderful person to lead the university.

I can’t wait to see all she brings to Ann Arbor. I’m rooting for her every step of the way, and I hope she has a long and illustrious career at the university. Go Blue. 〽️
