The Victors

It took about 3 weeks for the city to do anything. This is on a major commercial street, not off in a park or something. Really discouraging to see the city backslide after the WC, but we all knew it was coming.

Our nepo baby mayor college dropout is dealing with a crisis at city hall from the fallout of the shooting at Seattle Center last month, and has no idea how to walk and chew gum at the same time. She sounded like she was ready to cry at the presser on it the other day. She's in way over her head. I think it's 50/50 if she serves her full 4 years, one way or another. She fired the police chief after the shooting (justified imo as he's a part timer here, he spends 40% of his time in Chicago), and is now bogged down politically trying to find a new one.

Nobody even wants the job, which is why you have to do things like say you can live somewehre else 40% of the time. It's probably the least sought after police chief gig in any major American city I'd imagine. The SPD is a dysfunctional, useless police force on its best day, and a malevolent and bad one on most others.
