My parents in their early years together (late 1940s, early 50s) would travel local dance halls in western Ohio and dance to live performances by Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, and the like. One of the songs big in that era in the dance halls was Glen Miller’s In the Mood, which came out in 1939. When I was in high school in mid 70s new songs that I liked might have been 35 years older than In the Mood, and we kids thought that song was ancient.

Now songs from the mid 70s I rocked to are f’ing 50 years old.
