The Victors

The Topps Chrome baseball set debuted in 1996. Per a brief check, every Chrome set for the past 30 years has used the exact same design and player photo as the base flagship cards, with the only difference being the use of chromium cardstock, except for two years: in '08 and '11, the player photos were different in the Chrome set than in the flagship set. This didn't click for me until I received a 2007 Bowman Heritage Cabrera card and happened to notice the similarity to the 2008 Chrome card, at which point I realized the photos were identical except they apparently photoshopped a Tigers jersey in place of the Marlins jersey. The flagship set shows him in a Tigers jersey, and normally that photo would be used for Chrome, but since Topps switched it up for the first time in 12 years, it seems they had to do a little digital magic instead.
