But like, this is why I don't get a parking sticker. It was death when I was working downtown and had to walk 10-12 minutes from the parking garage when there was a handicap spot right in front of the building, but I cannot stand the thought of having regular interactions with the truth-in-disability police, having to provide my bona fides. That's worse than the fucking pain, at least for now.

If everyone just stopped worrying about who's pulling what disability parking scam or airline boarding scam, the same fakers would fake and maybe there would be a little uptick in those who have at least sense of shame enough to not want to be under constant suspicion.

But then everyone like me would get the accommodations they need. Is that not a good trade-off? I know it's not realistic. Expecting people not to judge and play disability cop is no more realistic than expecting all people to play by the rules and not take advantage like the sad sacks of crap they are.

But I'm going to continue to err on the side of giving a particular person the benefit of the doubt. In fact I'm not going to think anything at all - just wipe that shit out of my mind. I don't know their story and neither do you. And yes, there is a cost to being like suede and acting like it's a national epidemic that requires the Good of the world to intervene on behalf of lame fuckers like me.
