Her mom has gotten worse and takes a ton of her time. I haven't always been reliable as a sound board there and I think she's frustrated. We were supposed to meetup last fall on the tail end of a trip I did with our college friend group. She had a legit excuse (her dog was ill) but I still felt put off. It's been a bit more icy since then. If she was back in Seattle things would be different perhaps but she's firmly down there a continent away and we've both dated other people obviously since we were together. For awhile we were just really tight long distance friends, long phone calls and the "I love yous" at the end. She was a fucking rock for me when my mom died, and maybe she feels I haven't repaid that emotional labor. She's probably right.

Yea, SEA seems sorta magical. Almost like there are places there that still haven't quite moved into the 21st century. I'd love to try and get off the beaten bath a bit, do some remote backpacking, risk tolerance is fairly low, but I can be convinced.
