Bob McAdoo was their big scorer, playing what you might call a prehistoric Strech 4 -- he was a 6-11 forward/center who shot lots of 20-25 foot jumpers. He led the league in scoring as it was; if they had had the 3 point line he would have averaged close to 40.
The Braves also had Ernie DiGregorio before knee injuries wrecked his career, a young Adrian Dantley getting points down low, rough tough defensive guard Randy Smith, and a few others. They got roadblocked in the playoffs by the Celtics and the bullets at the time, but they were a fun team to watch and crowds in Buffalo got crazy for a time.
They very briefly acquired Moses Malone in the dispersal draft following the ABA-NBA merger but the whole franchise got fucked in the ownership shuffle which resulted in John Y Brown buying the Celtics and Sterling getting the Braves which he promptly moved to San Diego.
