Whitt has an extremely long and very successful track record -- I think I saw a graphic where he has the third most wins of any P4 coach over the last twenty years -- so obviously that's not what's going on. As to what's actually going on I can't make heads or tails of it. The play that most sticks with me is the almost pick six at the end of the half. WTF could Beck and BU have been thinking? That's a throw with ZERO upside and a risk of real disaster. It was a bizarre call.

The defense really was very good so there's that. But the offense was Shreet-level bad, like off the charts. It was extreme data so hopefully it was just something freakish and and it can at least get into the neighborhood of sort of mediocre next week. Because otherwise we're going to get killed.
