This is where a few of the crazy Wink or Don Brown blitzes, well timed, pay dividends. Hill says he wants to be play like our 2023 defense; even Minter and McDonald blitzed.

If you get negative yardage plays on D you can put the other team behind schedule. Then they have to get a 3rd and 16 or whatever. We never put that kind of pressure on WMU. They were always in short yardage it seemed. We had zero turnovers and 2 sacks. Certainly holding them to 3.0 ypc is good, but it's not like we blew up their OL.

I still can't get over Whit punting on 4th down from the 43 or 44 yard line down to WMU. That was a pussy move. Then our defense proceeded to give up a 21 play drive that sucked the life out of the stadium....what was left of it.
