I think they were way too jacked up, for one thing.

Bryce had the yips, Marsh muffed the punt. The OL had a collective brain cramp. Lots of pre-snap penalties, too many penalties overall. (I do think one of the illegal formation calls was bogus.)

Looking at the D in the first half, we were flirting with late hit penalties left and right. Defenders frequently made tackles as if the goal was to decapitate the ball carrier, rather than to wrap up and tackle him.

The D eventually seemed to settle down from that stuff, but the O never did.
