1) We know the play took ~ 8.5 s and the clock started at 0:09. NBC must have been the one that was wrong. The only other possible explanation is that the clock's real time was less than 8.5 but more than 8. I don't know how the scoreboard clock functions. A fan video or all 22 with the scoreboard clock visible would resolve this.

2) The MAC via Mike Pererria is asking something far dumber: to use the broadcast clock.
