NIL deals cannot be based on starting vs benched, or performance on the field

Structuring a deal that way would give away the pretense that these are “NIL deals,” and make a suspicious mind ask whether they are actually employment contracts.

They can have “appearance” clauses but that just means showing up to the game or to some other offsite event, not starting or starring.
