I think the game plan was to make sure UM didn't lose the game on offense, and I was okay with it. It's frustrating to watch live and even easier to nit-pick after the game, but UM's D dominated. The Bryce running game moved the chains enough to keep the UM D fresh.

I mean, you mentioned the ill-advised almost Int on the out pass in the 2nd Q. Whitt was complaining at halftime about Hiter stealing QB reads from Bryce, and he did it again in the 2nd half. Bryce got sacked on a free runner and that's something that would be concerning to a OC. I could go on.

Couple the above with last week, that has to give an OC pause, especially against an aggressive talented, well-coached D like Oklahoma. I can see why he would keep it very simple. I'm not suggesting Beck is infallible here, but I understand why he'd be more 'deliberate and safe' with the game plan, despite the fact that Bryce was playing fine.

Bryce is earning bits of trust, and hopefully, he continues to buy in and grow. Once that corner is turned, the offense will start to really take advantage of his talents, I'd wager. Yesterday was a big step, thats for sure.
