- it was not close at all. Ben was never not in control. even the 3rd set Shelton win, it was a lot of crowd being unruly and slightly getting into Zverev's head I felt

- Shelton is a confidence/emotional player and relies a lot of crowd feedback. Zverev is almost very stoic. don't know if TV cameras captured it but he didn't realize he won the champ point. he was in such a flow state.

- Zverev raised his game at exactly the rights moments when it mattered. the thing elite players do. I feel that he's in the Sinner / Alcaraz league now.. now that he also has a huge serve.

- was a fun experience. crowd was 99% Ben but also they all knew it was not going to be Ben

  - Nice. Been to the Finals a couple time. Fun time. Once was Djokovic/Murray and other was Djokovic/Fed. Unfortunately both were before they put the roof on at Ashe so weather wasn't great. - By toffee September 14, 2026 at 10:17:07 AM
