My analogy....

In 2022, we had Schoonmaker and Loveland at TE. Our 3 WR were Bell, C Johnson and Wilson.

We *occasionally* (couple plays) put a 6th OL in or Bredeson as an H back in 2022.

But if you run 6 OL plus Hoffman (a fake TE) for 7 spots, that would be like Harbaugh running out:
his 5 OL
plus Jones
plus Honigford

and only having 2 of Bell, Wilson, Johnson, Loveland, Schoonmaker on the field.

In 2023, it was Loveland and Barner at TE and 2 WR were Wilson, CJ and Morgan (the good Morgan)/Morris. So 2 of those 5.

Either way, if you run 6 OL and a Honigford type you are leaving guys off the field. Perhaps Barner (or Schoon) were good enough to play for Hoffman in this offense and maybe a healthy Hansen would replace Hoffman. But that would still make Loveland an extra player in this offense like Marshall is.

Or take your 3rd WR off the field.
