OFFENSE

Glass half full:
We had a situationally appropriate game plan against Oklahoma’s hyper-aggressive defense after the way Bryce struggled in the opener. The offense will not always be so conservative.

Glass half empty:
We have an offense that doesn’t do anything particularly well, including running the ball, which we did well last year. Beigle and Hoffman rack up snaps while more talented players rot on the bench. The RBs run laterally too much. Beck has a fever that can only be cured by more rhino.

DEFENSIVE FRONT

Glass half full:
JHD is a force, Nichols is unblockable, and we’re insanely deep behind them. Pierce demands doubles, freeing Etta up to be a beast. The DL is good enough to take the pressure off our less experienced LBs.

Glass half empty:
Oklahoma started a ragtag offensive line that is going to struggle this season. Teams that can pound, sustain drives, and expose our lack of depth at DT and experience at LB will give us fits.

DEFENSIVE SECONDARY

Glass half full:
Hill, Snowden, and Berry are lock-down corners, allowing UM to play a lot of man and simplify life for the front seven.

Glass half full:
MAn-heavy coverage works great until it doesn’t. (When you face top receiving talent.) See 2018 OSU game vs Don Brown defense. Will we be exposed against the top teams on our schedule?
