They were raving about his ability, I bet they thought he was one of the best 11 players. The rhino is not being used as a guard, it's being used as an extra tackle or a tight end off the line -- that makes a lot of sense if you have a super-athletic blocker who's 300 pounds and can move like a TE.
But now he's hurt again and I'm guessing won't play this year. It would make a lot more sense to me if the Rhino was slotted between the guard and tackle, so your pass protection is anchored by one of your 2 best perimeter pass blockers, not Beigel. But not sure they can make that change mid-season.
Anyway, they need to figure out how to get some productivity from those spots. If they can't get Hoffman, Marshall or Owens to make their blocks at a higher rate, I wonder if we see more more pony or 11 personnel. If you can't block a defender, at least take them out of the box.
