To be clear, the oversight committee is saying they got the call right, but used the wrong protocol

This is akin to when they announce a call should not have been reviewed, or if someone who didn’t have authority instituted a replay or if a referee inappropriately looked at the Jumbotron and decided to review something.

“The call is right, but you got there the wrong way.”
