We had this when we finished our basement. We had two estimates that were in the same ballpark. The third quoted us 3x higher than the others.

I noticed that some of our neighbors went with the insanely expensive company for other jobs. Did they pay that!?

My thought is that maybe they're swamped and don't want the job, but will deal with it if you're willing to pay a fortune.
