there has to be some blame on the players as well

all of the podcasts talk about the terrible performance of the OL against Western. The players seriously regressed and it wasn't all because of a scheme change. They were standing up instead of staying low and playing with leverage, many of the pullers were too deep, the inserts were terrible (that will still plagues M), though that has a lot to do with not having Bredenson or last year's TEs, and they were whiffing on assignments. Even in the most recent podcasts, Devin and Jake Butt have talked about the OL being the most inconsistent unit on the team. There are still missed assignments or plays were 1 or 2 players aren't blocking anyone and just look clueless. It is definitely improving, but this OL is just not where everyone expected it to be and the injuries plus illnesses aren't helping given the last minute shuffle before UTEP because of the Sprague decision.
