It's suspicious that seemingly definitive claims were quickly made about the origin. The first, uninformed reaction in private was an artificial virus. This was deliberately suppressed, with reason. Then we jumped to a seeming consensus it was natural, not with good reason.

Market v. lab should be natural v. engineered, in whole or part. Evidence the virus originated in that market was weak. Not weaker than pure lab leak, but weak. It was too weak to jump to the market conclusion. ("originated in" is not the same as "primarily spread from")

Vague, sorry: a meeting during the Biden admin. saw a split between scientists who claimed previously the virus was purely natural and everyone else, including those with intel access. The latter were far from saying the virus was definitely and fully engineered at the lab.

They were saying the "market-ists" didn't have a proper foundation for the strength for their claims. Fauci and others went deliberately and repeatedly beyond the evidence in 2020. He, in particular, had a personal motive for doing so. This is not about "definitely lab leak!"
