When I took that job in Portland, it hadn't rained in LA for 9 fucking months. It was dry, dusty, brown, smoggy, unusually hot. My commutes were hell. I went up to Portland to interview and it was like the fucking scene in Wizard of Oz. Color! Fresh air! Green plants! Life! I'll always remember that

Ty, Conrich: so like in N. MI growing up it was pretty posh, you go in walloon, charlevoix, lake michigan, wherever. The ski hills are 400 feet but you get good powder. Camping is solid, but there's no real mountains. all of MI is nice, not just TC/Petoskey area
