I am a long time lurker but struggle with ability to post from work.

- Class of '92
- Poli Sci Grad and then went to grad school in same space at UGA (I am from Atlanta originally)
- Lived and worked in former Soviet Union (Moscow and Almaty, Kazakhstan) in mid to late 90s working on nuclear nonproliferation and even met my wife in Kazakhstan and we remain together to this day
- Work in high tech and have lived in the Bay Area since 2000
- Daughter inherited my love of UM and is Class of 2024 which was a real joy to experience
- Now very happy empty nester looking forward to retirement and travel
- Food and wine (and all liquor) are pleasures for me and a big focus on any vacations (e.g. was very excited to go to some amazing restaurants in NYC visiting my kid last week)
- Politics have always been depressing for me as I have always had a very low expectation of the general electorate going back to the days when I studied this and I have only been disappointed from there. Avoid discussing US politics if at all possible as my views are likely obvious, but also continue to pay very close attention to politics in the former Soviet Union given I have family there
