Dortmund backed out of negotiations of 50 mill. when Ricken felt they were merely being used to dangle El Mala for a bigger fee from the Premiership or some other club and Dortmund had no intent of pushing above 50 given the other options they had like Konstanedis for 20 mill. and allowing them to sign another player in Veerman. Players are worth 50 or 60 if teams dangle them and others offer. If El Mala scores 20 for Leipzig and becomes a fixture in their starting 11, then he may very well be worth 60 mill. just as Ferran may be. OTOH, DeMichelis was a total wild card hire for Leipzig to start with and who even knows what his style is going to be with Leipzig and whether El Mala will or will not fit that style. Ferran won't make or break PSG and 50 mill. is a routine accounting rounding error to their parents investment fund.
