1995 Michigan - UVA

My family was visiting my wife's family in Watertown, Connecticut. My 11 year old son and I got ready to watch the game. We had made sandwiches for lunch.

When the game was supposed to start, the local network affiliate was playing a horse show...a horse show. So we jumped into the car and drove to a local bar/pizza place. We walked in and all the patrons were glumly watching the horse show.

So we drove to a hotel in Waterbury and I got them to put the game on in their bar. Yay! About a half hour into the game the bartender told us they were closing the bar, Yikes...but she then said we could could stay and watch the game.

So my son and I were in the bar alone for the rest of the game. When Michigan came back and won on the last play I picked up my son a carried him around the bar. There was a bell that we rang. It was exciting.

One of my favorite memories to share with my son which I did just last week.
