That’s hard to answer since one guy was a 1B and the other was a 2B. Hernandez was a key starter on two WS champs

Hernandez was an OBP monster in his prime (.403 OBP in 5,150 PAs between 1979-1986) and was a good leader off the field despite his cocaine use controversy. Hernandez was surprisingly decent on the bases too for a 1B.

His defense was great, but at a position that’s easier to play average defense than 2B.
