Sincere question: Has the result of a football game (or any sports team game) ever been reversed ex post facto because of an officiating mistake? (There doesn't seem to have been a mistake here but even if there was how is this any different from a million other games?)

I honestly can't ever recall that happening, in any sport anywhere. Teams lose because of bad calls every single day of the week. And again this wasn't even a bad call!

I do think this is all tied up somehow with the Trumpist destruction of any commitment to honesty or coherence, and the constant celebration of the most extreme stupidity.
