Dartmouth-Cornell Fifth Down Game

In 1940. The gentlemen from Cornell conceded the loss on Monday when they confirmed they had been granted an extra "fifth" down to allow them to secure the winning touchdown. An admirable act of sportsmanship that still reverberates above Cayuga's waters.

Sincere question: Has the result of a football game (or any sports team game) ever been reversed ex post facto because of an officiating mistake? (There doesn't seem to have been a mistake here but even if there was how is this any different from a million other games?)
