The island lies in the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait, which is about eighteen miles wide. The eastern channel is about two miles wide. The western channel is sixteen miles wide--this is the one used by international shipping.

One wonders if Hegseth is going to loop in another reporter the next time he orders a strike against the Houthis. Talk about off the scale incompetence ...
