9/11 memory

Posted on September 10, 2026 at 01:34:13 PM by Paul

My moment of Finding Out was something that pretty much couldn't happen today. I didn't have a cellphone let alone a smartphone in those days, and I had gone for a really long run, six or seven miles, when the planes were hitting the towers, on a trail way out in the woods. I took a shower and went to my office for a 9 AM class (11 AM EDT). I was preparing for a bit and didn't log into the internet because I generally didn't do that before class. So I walked into class two hours into the thing without having heard about it. Everybody had these shocked blank looks on their faces, and I said what's up did somebody die or something? That's how I found out.
