Hate the nutjob right wing shitheads in Israel. Love the modern secular Israelis.
Not a big fan of any grievance wraiths, and the Middle East is about 90% grievance wraith. For example, how is somebody 3(+) generations past 1947 a “refugee?” Are the great-grandchildren of Germans forced out of Kaliningrad in 1945 “refugees?”
Huge fan of the early Israelis; tough as shit! Fought their asses off to win viability (the “right” of a state to exist doesn’t mean anything; ask Kurdish ppl). Practical, thoughtful people who turned a mostly empty piece of desert into a thriving diverse democratic society in the aftermath of one of the greatest crimes in human history. Fuck yes!
The religious zealots in Israel combine incompetence (guess who was in charge of the Gaza Wall on 10/7?) with grievance shit and belligerent ignorance. It’s genuinely disturbing that they are growing and the normal secular Israel is shrinking. It’s even worse in Gaza and the West Bank.
AIPAC’s biggest sin is that it’s counterproductive. They and Netenyahu have turned a relationship with overwhelming bipartisan, cross-ideological support into a standard left/right, educated/ignorant issue. Whatever they’re paid is a waste.

As a Jew who is moderate on Israel (supports its right to exists, hates all the right wing parties), I find AIPAC unamerican as hell. Anyone else have a similar viewpoint?*

AIPAC is seemingly prepared to support the Republican candidate for the Michigan Senate race ...

AIPAC is fine in concept (it's mainly funded by American Jews) but it has become so toxic that Democrats should run away from it.

Strongly dislike their viewpoints, but as an org they are way more American in principle than, for example, the saudi lobby...

Hate Netanyahu, as most of my family in Israel does. He is the worst autocrat. Don't give an f about AIPAC one way or the other, but resent any suggestion that Jews are someonehowe wrong to put their money behind their political beliefs, whether it be Soros, Adelson or AIPAC donors.*

Isn’t this the mainstream position amongst most Jewish people in the US? Every Jewish person that I know thinks the same thing.*
