I don’t LOVE love winter, but it amazes me the lengths to which people will go to avoid it…

Migration in our country has been out of northern states into sunbelt states for some time now. I know ppl follow job opportunities, and I’m biased, but quality of life seems obviously higher to me in New England and the Great Lakes States. I know that taxes tend to be lower in shitty red states, but also, you get what you pay for.

Is winter really THAT big a negative?

Summer in hot humid places is every last bit as awful as winter in Michigan, in my book. And with climate change, that’s constantly shifting in favor of the northern states. If I had the option to move to Wisconsin vs Texas, or Upstate NY vs S Carolina, those are one-second decisions for me.
