Seaholm's principal, who liked me, left for a professor job at Oakland University one spring. The assistant principal, who did NOT like but tolerated me became principal and made it clear that I was not welcome anymore, in spite of taking over and running a very successful debate/forensics program, so I was out of a job. I decided to pursue other interests and was, but in probably early August, out of the blue I got a call late one night from Pat Clees. Their debate coach quit and she was being pressured into taking over the team, which was NOT going to happen if she could help it, would I PLEASE help her out take the position. I could not say no. For the most part, it was worth it.
