But the job of the offensive coordinator isn’t to just call plays like it’s Madden. In fact, I’d argue this is down the list.
Most important is does the guy understand his roster and start to scheme to the strengths? I think Beck is really adapting recently. Look at how much more comfortable Bryce is now. Look at how we’ve now fully incorporated both JJ and Marsh where in week one it was only one guy. Look at how using Bryce’s legs has totally caused secondaries to freeze (which led to Buchanan getting behind the defense).
It’s not perfect but it’s not like he’s out there using the game one game plan every week.
We need to figure it out in short yardage but we’re really close to becoming a very explosive offense which is leaps and bounds where it looked like we may be in week one.
And if Bryce continues to grow, Michigan would be fuckibg insane to change systems.
