The offense had key penalties, RZ struggles, an INT, Bryce leapt on a 4th and 1 and a cowardly 3rd and 5 call.

But the offense also moved the ball well consistently, had hardly any short fields because it's Iowa, the passing game was great, in the first half the RBs couldn't do anything so they leaned on Bryce. Exactly what you want to see rather than the Sherrone approach which is refuse to run him.

All of the above can be true at once. If Bryce continues to play well, they just need to clean up penalties and see more improvement in the non-Bryce run game.

        I like your big picture analysis, but am losing hope in the staff's ability to just clean up penalties.
